In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
LESPERANCE, John Edward - It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Edward Lesperance announces his passing on January 19, 2021, at the age of 79. John was born in Windsor Ontario, on August 7, 1941. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1958 and honorably served 35 1/2 years and then "retired" to the golf courses of Victoria, B.C. both for work and play. John is also remembered for his love of softball on and off the field for many years as both a player and a coach and overall a true sports fan at heart.
John is survived by his wife Margaret, his daughter Leah and grandsons; Ty and Gavin, his son and family; Bruce and Kelly with granddaughters; Kasia, Melia, Alyssa and Gracie. His surviving siblings; Roland, Majella, Donald, Beverley, Philip and Brian, predeceased siblings; Gerald and Carol. Other family and friends; David, Montica, Wayne and so many more and of course his loyal dog Ella. His last carefully and thoughtfully typed out words to us were, "Be happy for me as I have lived an amazing life and I love all of you very much!"
We all love you very much and your laughter, kindness and enthusiasm for life will forever live in all of us. Rest in peace now, your struggle is over.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests you make a donation to the ALS Society of British Columbia. (Victoria Times Colonist 23 Jan 2021)
