CLEGHORN, Kenneth Walter (Ken) - In Victoria, B.C. on February 5th, 1974, age 55 years, born in Vancouver, B.C. and a resident of Victoria for the past 33 years, late residence 550 View Royal Ave. He leaves his wife, Kay at home, his family, Les and Joan Cleghorn, surrey, B.C., Janet and Rick Howard, Coquitlam, B.C., Rick and Joan Cleghorn, Victoria, B.C. and Nancy, at home; grandchildren, Kathy and Richard Cleghorn, Surrey, B.C. and Jeffrey Howard, Coquitlam, B.C. and his sister, Mrs. Agnes Naud, Bowen Island, B.C. Mr. Cleghorn was known on both coasts as The Senator. He served in the RCN for 25 years, retiring as a CPO and a life member of the CPO's Mess; later working for the Ministry of Transport in various places in B.C.; a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Prince Edward Branch No. 91, Langford, B.C. and the Centennial Cameral Club. Service will be held in the Garden City United Church, 4054 Carey Rd., on Friday, February 9th, 1974 at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Geoffrey G. Smith officiating. Cremation. Flowers gratefully declined. Those so desiring may contribute to the charity oft heir choice.
Ken's nickname was “the Senator”, a reference to an old radio character, Senator Cleghorn
