In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
DESPRES, Jean-Claude - 69, passed away, at the Hull Hospital, in Gatineau.
Jean-Claude loved life and he loved people. Although he often joked otherwise, everything he did showed how deeply he cared about others. He was a loving, kind and upstanding man. He loved to laugh, tease, chat and recount stories, but most of all, he knew how to listen.
He loved his 40 years in the Navy, during which time he made many friends. Although his career took him to other shores over the years, he always remained attached to his neck of the woods and always spoke with pride of his Acadian roots.
He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren, whom he dearly loved. He was also a favourite uncle of his nephews and nieces.
He faced with outstanding courage and dignity, a terrible decease that robbed him of his life and took him away from those who loved him much too soon.
He is survived by his mother Aline Després (Roger), by his wife Jasmine, his children: René (Lisa) and Erin (Chad) and his grandchildren: Lilianna and Greyson.
Jean-Claude is also survived by his sister Roberta (Glen) and his brother Roger (Martine). He will also be greatly missed by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephew, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his father Bertin Després.
Due to the pandemic, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations to the ALS Society would be appreciated.
