MARLOW, William L. (Bill) - It is with heavy hearts we announce the loss of Bill Marlow at the age of 82 after a battle with liver cancer. Bill passed away April 6, 2021 in the VG Site, QEII, Palliative Care Unit surrounded by his loved ones. Bill was born and raised in Stratford, Ont., son of MaryAnne and William Marlow. Bill is survived by his sons, Billy and Douglas Marlow and daughter, Mary Marlow (Dave); granddaughters, Angel Marlow and Marilyn Marlow; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Sean; sister, Susan Vandervliet (Gord); brother, David Marlow (Cheryl); many nieces and nephews; his loving partner, Jessie Rice; her daughters, Maxine Saunders, Roxanne Rice (Bobby); her sons, Maurice Rice (Marg), Ross Rice (Sharon); eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Bill understood from the beginning that hard work and perseverance, patience and goal setting would lead to happiness. Bill joined the Royal Canadian Navy at the age of 17 and served his country on several HMC ships and shore stations. He retired as a CPO 1st Class in 1994 after 39 years of dedicated service. A highlight of Bill's career was serving with the NATO Flotilla led by Canada. After retirement he joined Eduplus designing, developing and delivering training for MCD project. Bill enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and gardening. He also had a passion for travel and did lots during his lifetime. His true passion was playing music, he played the guitar and harmonicas with the Dartmouth Metro Fiddlers "Music with Friends" and other groups, playing in LTC homes and for the veterans, church services and charity events. This gave Bill great enjoyment and a feeling of community involvement. Bill was also a life member of CNMT. He will be forever missed by all of those that knew and loved him. Arrangements under the care and direction of Atlantic Funeral Homes, Sackville Chapel, where visitation will be held Tuesday, April 13th, from 2-4 p.m. To book an appointment time for visitation please call the funeral home between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., 902-864-1434. Funeral Service Wednesday, April 14th at 1 p.m. will be invitation-only due to COVID-19 restrictions. Interment to follow in Oakridge Memorial Gardens.
