In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
TRAIN, Garth T. - Born Toronto, ON; died peacefully in Saanichton, BC after a short battle with lung cancer. Sailed on HMCS HURON and IROQUOIS, including Korea tour in 1954. Joined the RCMP in 1960, served in B Division (NL), L Division (PEI) and A Division (ON), commissioned Inspector in 1975, served in E Division (BC) as OIC Telecommunications. After retiring in 1986, he joined the BC Emergency Health Services Commission. He finally retired to Pender Island, where he fished, sailed and built houses with his friends. Predeceased by brother Brian and sister Joan. Survived by wife Frances; brother Clifton; son Brian and daughter Lesley, from marriage to first wife Sandra; and grandson Akito. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to may make a contribution to a cause of their choice in his memory. (Victoria Times Colonist 30 May 2021)
