LAWRENCE, Edward R. - 73, Halifax, died September 15, 1994, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Russell and Elizabeth Lawrence. He served in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserves from August 1941 until October 1945 on various ships on overseas convoy duty. He was later employed at HMC Dockyard for 31 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Scotia Branch Legion. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Gracie, Lower L'Ardoise; son, Kerry, Prospect; two daughters, Dale, Herring Cove; Carol (Mrs. John MacDonald), Cow Bay; four grandchildren; two brothers, James, Halifax; Harold, Collingwood; sister, Marion (Mrs. Bob Woodgate), Halifax. He was predeceased by four brothers, William, Albert, George, Russell; four sisters, Hazel, Vera, Imo, Ella. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors 2-4,7-9 p.m. Sunday in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Windsor Street, Halifax, where a memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. (Halifax Mail Star 17 Sep 1944)
