LASKO, James (Jim) - age 82 of Middleton, NS passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness with congestive heart failure on Sunday, May 23, 2021 in the beautiful setting of the Valley Hospice, Kentville. Born in Tay Township, Ontario he was a son of the late Samuel Lasko and Annie May Latondress. At a young age, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and then worked in the transportation industry. Jim was employed with the Walter Callow Wheelchair Coach Company for 25 years and later DRL Coach Lines driving motor coach to various destinations in the Maritimes and the USA. Jim was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed golfing and skiing. He is survived by his loving wife, Roxanne “Bunny”; his daughter, Rhonda (Ken); his son, Brian (Jensica); grandchildren, Sarmatia, Aria and Jack; stepsons, Adrian (Leah) and Jonathan (Wendy); step-grandchildren, Ryan, Mack and Jake; sisters, Mary, Dorothy, Lottie, Janet; brothers, Sid, George, Roy and Fred. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Pauline, Rita and Lillian; brothers, Vincent, Alan and Ross. In keeping with Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. In memory of Jim, raise a glass, share a memory and enjoy life to the fullest. Jim enjoyed many friendships he made along the way and in the Annapolis Valley. Also, his buddies at Connell Chrysler Dodge, Middleton and to Jerry for lending a helping hand whenever needed. A heart felt thank you to VON, Palliative Care team and the Valley Hospice for their tender loving care and support.
