In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
BURNS, Maurice (Moe) - 85, of Mazerolle Settlement, passed away on May 15, 2020, at the Hospice House Fredericton. Born on January 31, 1935, in Liverpool, NS, he was the son of the late Richard Daniel and Iscilda (Manthorne) Burns. He was a member of the Holy Family Church.

Moe also worked for the Irving Oil Company in Gander and the Government of the Northwest Territories. Even though Moe moved a great deal with work he made lasting friendships wherever he went. He was great at keeping in touch with family and friends.
Moe coached many of his boys in Minor Hockey and supported them in their many endeavours. Moe sharpened skates for the Minor Hockey Leagues and Figure Skaters in Riverview and Gander. Moe loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being on the water in his sailboat. He instilled this love of the outdoors to his sons. He named one of his sailboats the Seven Sons and had many adventures along the BC coast with his wife Ann. He also loved music and dancing and took pride in organizing the bi-monthly Fiddle Do at the Kingsclear Community Hall for 10 years.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Ann (Mazerolle); 6 sons: George (Colleen) of New Hazelton, BC, Mike (Anne-Elisabeth Fauvel) of Yellowknife, NT, Peter (Laura) of Delta, BC, John (Sharon) of Winnipeg, MN, Jeff (Paula Gaudet) of Moncton, NB and Trevor (Sharon) of Red Deer, AB; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Kenney, Paradise, NF; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one son, Greg.
Due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation. There will be a private family service and a celebration of life will take place after the pandemic is over.
