WILMAN, Bernard - AKA "Bernie the BOSS", age 75, of Beaverbank, NS, passed away suddenly, on July 17, 2021.
Bernard was born in Salford (Manchester), England. He was the son of Bernard and Moira Wilman. Bernie served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years. After retiring from the military, he continued his support to the military, working with Litton systems, Lockheed Martin, Paramax, and finally instructing at the CFNES with Dalhousie University.
He was an active member of the Legion, he enjoyed "tinkering" around and "fixing" things. He also enjoyed the great outdoors and was an avid camper.
He is survived by his four children, Lisa Wilman, Nancy Wilman, Craig Wilman and Suzanne (Garland Weir) Wilman; He had 8 beautiful Grandchildren, in order of birth: Conner Wilman-Wilkinson, Kerri Wilman-Wilkinson, Avery Snider, Sophia (Sophie to Bernard, no matter how many times you corrected him) Wilman-Sutton, Maxwell Wilman-Weir, Jaxson Wilman-Weir, Bella Wilman-Noseworthy and Charlie Wilman-Weir; brother Peter Wilman and sister Antoinette (Dennis) Huggins; He had a handsome bunch of nephews, David (Carmen) McAvoy, Paul (Jocelyn) McAvoy, Mark McAvoy, Chris Huggins, Stephen Foster and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents Bernard and Moira (nee Keane) Wilman, his sister Patricia McAvoy (Wilman) and brother in law Joe McAvoy.
A ceremony will be announced at a later date, to allow for anybody who will be attending from out of town. Details will be announced on this site once they become known.
