DOUCETTE, Donald James - Published: July 14, 2021 Donald James Doucette It is with heavy hearts the family of Donnie Doucette regretfully announce his peaceful passing at the Prince Edward Home on Monday, July 12, 2021 at the age of 85. He was from Charlottetown and formerly from North Rustico, PEI. He was predeceased by his wife Catherine (Kay) MacDonald in 2010. Besides his Parents Andrew (Bobby) Edward and Louise (Peters). He was predeceased by his 5 brothers; Reggie, Vernon, Bennett, Lloyd and Billy. He is the last surviving member of his family. He leaves to mourn and will be sadly missed by his two sons; Ricky (Anne), Wayne (Melissa) and his daughter Shanna. He will be especially missed by his grandchildren; Devin, Derrick, Brandon, Matthew and Katherine. He will also be sadly missed by his special sister-in-law, Sheila Guay and special cousin and friend, Joyce Chabot. Also all his nieces and nephews; especially Gary, Louise,Doug & David; Kim & Karen & Yvonne. Donnie served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War aboard HMCS MAGNIFICENT (aircraft carrier "Maggie"). He was commissionaire at the Hillsborough Hospital for a number of years and then he became the head of the Commissionaires on PEI until he retired. Ricky, Wayne and Shanna would like to personally thank the staff on Red Oaks Unit at the Prince Edward Home who gave Dad such wonderful care. Resting at the Hennessy Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home. Due to current restrictions a funeral service will be by invitation only.
