DICKSON, John Harry Thomas - Life is short and death is sure. There are no words to adequately describe the profound sadness, we feel collectively as a family during this most difficult time. It is with the deepest regret that we announce the passing of John Harry Thomas Dickson. He passed away at home surrounded with the love of his family. John had a long hard battle with cancer (1& 1/2 years)
He was predeceased by his parents Tom Dickson, and Loretta Stockley, a son Johnnie, sisters June and Brenda, and brother Raymond.
He leaves behind his dedicated wife Marie (nee Morton) of 41 years, son Richard (Tanya) daughters Wendy Dickson Jewers (Brian) and Debbie Dickson (Darin) Grandchildren Mary, Jake, Brianna, Andrea and Ben.
Surviving siblings are Mary Lou Aucoin, and Stan Dickson (Judy). Also half siblings Trudy, Barb, Charlotte, Arlene, Clara, Donna, Purcell, Albert, Lawson, Lonnie, David, Bobby and Tony. And half siblings Linda, Sonya, Larry, Wade, Ronnie and Tim.
John was in the Royal Canadian Navy and served his country for 26 years before retiring. He went to work at Penhorn Mall in the maintenance department for 14 years and retired for good.
John cherished his family, extended family and his friends. Always there to lend a hand ,whether asked for help or not. He loved life, dancing, fishing, hunting, country music, Toronto Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, going to the camp and having a few games of cards and as he was known to say, having a few *wets*. He loved working in his garden John loved life, his family and his friends unconditionally.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial Donations can be made to the Cancer Society.
John will be sadly missed by those who knew him and who loved him.
