HALL, Donald (Chopper) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don. Survived by his loving wife Helen and his 3 children Denise, Donna and Marty, stepsons, Kevin (Terri) Bruce (Kathy), grandchildren Ryan, Taleesha, Tyrus, Tracy, Corrina, Tyler, Cameron and Wyatt, and many nieces and nephews and first wife Pat. Predeceased by parents Ann and Tom, sisters Ellen, twin Dodi and nephew Wayne. Don was born in Calgary but grew up in Penticton then moved to Victoria and settled in Nanaimo.
Don joined the Navy in 1953 and saw Korea. He worked with CNAV and Dockyard until he retired. In Penticton he skated with the Penticton Flying V's, played baseball then Softball. He was President of Stuffy McGinnis before he started to umpire. He enjoyed golfing, watching football and cards with his friends Emil, Bob, Ernie and Jim but especially loved his dog(s) Cali. Many thanks to the nurses and doctors at Nanaimo Hospital. There will be no service, a private family gathering will take place in the coming weeks. (Victoria Times Colonist 06 Aug 2021)
