In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
BARBOUR, Bruce - I was born in October 1940 and passed July 24, 2021, leaving my wife Robyn of 60 years and my two daughters Kathy (Bruce) and Julie (Mike), grandchildren Cameron, Sarah, Claire, and Sophia, my brother Ross and sister Stella and several nieces and nephews.
I enjoyed a wonderful life with great friends growing up on the North Shore, building forts, attending Pauline Johnson, Inglewood Junior High, West Van High and, after a brief time in the Navy, UBC business school. I was active in the North Shore Fish and Game Club and the Royal Canadian Legion # 114. I loved fishing, boating, and spending time at my favorite place of all- Hornby Island.
Now it is time to set sail. As my good friend Norm said, "Our Captain heard the clarion call and taking up the helm of his beloved Bommerlunder is once more dancing upon the foam flecked waves of the shining Salish Sea." Adios, B.B. (North Short News 11 Aug 2021)
