MOORE, Albert Arthur, Stoker Petty Officer, V5964, RCNVR, MPK - 13 Sep 1942, HMCS OTTAWA - Born 22 Jun 1912 son of Mrs. James White, Newington, Kent, England; husband of Geraldine Moore, Cowansville, QC.
Albert Moore was a home child born in England 22 Jun 1906 and sent to Canada in 1921 with the Church of England Waifs and Strays Society to work as a farm labourer. He arrived at Quebec City aboard the S.S. Victorian on June 19, 1921 just days three before his 15th birthday. He was sent first to the receiving home at Sherbrooke, Quebec and then worked for farmers at Lennoxville and Sweetsburg. Son of Mrs. James White, of Newington, Kent, England; husband of Geraldine Moore, of Cowansville, Quebec. Geraldine was a daughter of Elizabeth Cowley Perry , who was also a home child. Albert Arthur Moore died on 13 Sep 1942 when HMCS OTTAWA H60 was sunk.
