In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
KADA, Russel Harvey (Russ) - of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the age of 75 years.
Son, Brother, Father, Grandpa, Uncle.
Russ was born in Elk Point, AB, on July 25, 1945. He had a great upbringing in Clandonald, AB, up until he chose to join the Canadian Navy at the age of 17 years. He had to get permission from his Mom, Dad and the Minister to be able to enlist. Russ served his time and learned a lot. Shortly after he married and had three children, Kimberlee Dawn, Shiloh Karlene, and Shelbe Scott. He was very proud of his kids, always ensuring they could accomplish anything they set their minds too, and making sure that all his kids were independent. Russ loved to tell stories of all the adventures he went through, he would tell these stories over and over again, as long as someone was listening! Russ loved to ride his Harley Davidson with his friends and with his daughter Kim by his side on her own Harley. Russ would give advice, based on his seventy-five years of knowledge, any chance he got. His penmanship was above and beyond – he could write – this skill was passed down to his kids and grandchildren. Russ always had music playing; he danced just as good as his dad Matt. He enjoyed attending live concerts as well. Russ had a very strong love of animals, if he could afford to save them all he would have. Russ had a few really strong friendships and many acquaintances, if he could help you in any way, he would.
Russ is survived by his two daughters, Kim (Brad) Kada of Calgarry, AB, and Shiloh (Ron) Kada of Port Alberni, BC; son Shelbe (Barb) Kada of Spruce Grove, AB; four grandchildren, Carman (Adam) of Lipscombe, Australia, Courtney Kada, Nikki Kada and Scott Kada all of Spruce Grove, AB. Russ is also survived by his two sisters, Geri Farberg, and Maureen (Evan) McNeely; and brother Stan (Jan) Kada, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Russ was predeceased by his mom Hazel Kada, and dad Matt Kada.
A Celebration of Russ’ Life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at (156 artists view way Calgary, AB). If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Cochrane Humane Society, 62 Griffin Industrial Pointe, Cochrane, AB, T4C 0A3, Telephone: (403) 932-2072
