In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
LEDUC, Robert G. - passed away peacefully at Dover House in Nanaimo, BC.
Born in Wainwright, AB, Robert fell in love with the ocean, mountains, and forests when he attended Sea Cadet camp on Gambier Island.
He met his wife Anna while serving in the Canadian Naval Reserve in Esquimalt. Together they raised six children.
After obtaining a Masters in Education in Industrial Arts, Robert taught future high school shop teachers for many years at UBC.
Upon retirement, Robert and Anna moved to the home they built in Halfmoon Bay. Robert was an active member of the BC Emergency Measures agency, the local HAM radio club (VE7ALT), and the local provincial Liberal association (when they were still "liberal"). He met and made many good friends through these activities.
In the winters, they travelled in their RV to the southern US and Mexico.
Robert is survived by five children, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, as well as his four siblings. (The Coast Reporter 01 Oct 2021)
