SABUCCO, Dino - Passed away at the Welland Hospital on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the age of 95 to be reunited with his sons Brian Sabucco (2020) and Ron Sabucco (1983). He will forever be missed by his beloved wife of 74 years, Murph Sabucco. Loving father of Gene (Barbara) Sabucco and Richard (Margaret) Sabucco. Dino will be greatly missed by his daughter-in-law Linda Sabucco. Cherished grandfather of April Sabucco, Christopher (Risa) Sabucco, Mariah Sabucco and great-grandfather of Eri Hayashi-Sabucco. He was predeceased by his parents Lucy and Dante Sabucco and his sister Mary D'Amico. Dino joined the navy in 1944. He did his basic training in Windsor where he met the love of his life Murph. Dino and Murph dated for a short period of time before he was sent overseas. He started to write Murph love letters during his time away, and Murph saved every single one of them. They got married on August 23, 1947 when Dino returned back to Canada. Dino retired from John Deere Welland as a Tool and Die Maker after approximately 32 years of service. He was a coach and executive with Welland Minor Hockey for many years and an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan and personal friend of Johnny Bower. Dino loved pets, especially his grand dogs Tia and Tilly. The Sabucco family will receive family and friends at JJ Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence, 19 Young Street, Welland on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. In keeping with current Covid-19 Provincial Restrictions, capacity is limited within the funeral home. Masks and social distancing while waiting to enter are mandatory. In keeping with these restrictions, a private Funeral Service will take place. (The St. Catharines Standard 01 Oct 2021)
