JAMIESON, Douglas Allan - 91, Middleton, formerly of Margaretsville, died March 8, 1997, in Veterans Affairs Unit of Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Born in Queensport, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Allan and Martha Jamieson. He was a Navy veteran of the Second World War and a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 1, Middleton. He sailed on the Elizabeth Cann and Nova II from Saint John, N.B., and other fishing boats. He was foreman with the Department of Highways and was foreman on building the road from Margaretsville to Middleton. He operated a gas station in East Margaretsville. Surviving are daughters, Elaine Harris, Margaretsville; Sylvia Banks, Wilmot; son, Allan, Chatham, N.B.; brother, Murray, Queensport; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Emma Jones; daughter, Joan; son, Donald; grandchildren, Matthew, Jillian; sisters, Maime, Lou; brothers, Clifford, Earl. Funeral 2 p.m today in Melvern Square United Baptist Church, Rev. Sharon Budd officiating. Burial in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. Donations to Melvern Square United Baptist Church or Veterans Affairs Unit bus fund.
