In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MacDONALD, Robert (Bob) - Passed peacefully on Monday August 9, 2021 at the age of 81. A veteran sailor of The Royal Canadian Navy, Bob was a great dancer, an avid dart player, and was quick with the one-liners. A devoted family man, Bob's greatest purpose was caring for his family. Bob was the cherished husband of 57 years to Connie (nee Doohan); beloved Dad to his children Christopher (Julie), Terry (Joanne), Karen (Jeffrey), Kelly, and Stephen Paugh (Tracy); proud grandpa of Kyle (Celine), David (Hayley), Célia (Cole), Matthew, Amanda, and Troy (Michelle); and great-grandpa of Audrey, Emily, Rachel, and Parker. He will be dearly missed by his sister Valerie Walker, many other siblings from afar, his nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends, and his little "buddy" Simon.Family and friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home-Orleans 2370 St. Joseph Blvd, Orleans K1C 1G1 613-837-2370 On Friday, August 13, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at Capital Memorial Gardens, 3700 Prince of Wales, following the chapel service. The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses and doctors of the Leukemia Program, Division of Hematology, the Medical Day Care Unit, 5th floor, and 8th Floor West of the Ottawa General Hospital for their amazing and compassionate care of Bob.
