In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
KUHN, Fredric Harold - 90, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully on October 27, 2021 at home. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Frances (Kuhn) and Ralph Naugle. Fred joined the Navy upon leaving high school. After serving over 20 years as an Aerotech, including postings on the HMCS BONAVENTURE and HMCS MAGNIFICENT, he retired to pursue other interests. He had a couple different sales jobs including auto sales for Bob McDonalds. Discovering his talent for sales encouraged him to get into real estate where he continued to work & develop many life-long friendships for nearly 30 years until retiring. Fred then returned to his lifelong passion of woodworking, building & refinishing furniture and even tried his hand at woodcarving, all of which he excelled at. He also enjoyed oil painting and took pride in his gardens. Fred was a Past Master at Lodge #122 and loved being Santa for their Christmas parties, a passion that continued for many years to come much to the delight of the neighbourhood children. A devoted and loving husband & father, an excellent baker and a loyal neighbour. Fred was cherished by all the lives he touched & will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving daughter; Linda Borden, grandchildren; Scott, Kyle and Sarah (Ryan), great grandchildren; Jack, Sophie, Nolan and Grayson. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 71 years Carmen Isabel, and son; Michael. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, from 2-4 and 6-8pm with a service held at 1pm Friday, November 5, both in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Rev. Bill MacIntyre officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Mount Hermon Cemetery. Donations may be made to Sonya’s Healing Animal SCARS and can be made by emailing katsonya@accesswave.ca.
