Edna Annie (nee Cluett) September 29, 1936 - Frenchman's Cove, Newfoundland.
Edna and Keith Ashmead of Calgary, AB tragically passed away as a result of a car accident on Monday, November 8, 2021.
Farm boy from Stony Plain, AB, serving in the Royal Canadian Navy met in Halifax this adventuresome independent gal from Newfoundland. Married in 1972, they soon were posted to Lahr, Germany with Edna's sons, Richard and Marc. They came to Canada in 1980 and in 1986 they moved to Calgary. Edna was the Queen of Bingo and Keith was the King of BBQ. They found fulfillment spending time with friends, family, and the Legion.
Edna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard Le Blanc (Joanne), and their son Simon: Son Marc Le Blanc and his daughter Lauren (Shayne), great-grandson Jonathan and grandson Benjamin (Jacque). Edna came from a very close fishing community in Frenchman's Cove, NFLD and was predeceased by parents, Hilda, and Thomas Cluett. Edna is survived by siblings, Sarah (Jack deceased), George, Sam (Elaine), Mathilda (Charlie), Alma (Phil), Barb (Ches), predeceased by Ira and Rueben.
Keith is survived by his siblings, Kent (Bernadette), Robert (Gloria), Roberta (Ken), Ralph deceased (Vicki). Also remembered with love, nieces, and nephews with whom Keith enjoyed a special relationship.
Memorial services will be determined at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the families by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes website.
