MASTRONARDI, Edward John - WWII Veteran, Royal Canadian Navy Korean War Veteran, The Royal Canadian Regiment Assistant Secretary, Treasury Board Secretariat Passed away at the Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre on October 9, 2016 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret who predeceased him on April 28, 2016. Proud father of Michael (Grace) and Julia (Dublin). Dear grandfather of Myles, who predeceased him September 3, 2012, and Brianna. Ed is also survived by his former daughter-in-law and cherished friend, Debra. He was a decorated and celebrated Canadian military officer, who was awarded the Military Cross for his valourous actions in Korea, the Order of Military Merit by the Republic of South Korea, investiture in the Order of Saint George for service to Canada, and the Canadian Force's Decoration. Ed was also an author with six published books to his credit. He was especially proud of his association with The Royal Canadian Regiment. The family wishes to extend our warmest appreciation for the devoted support of The RCR Association Ottawa Branch as well as the staff of the Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre.
