In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
LAMB, Ruby Edith (née EVANS) - Passed away on February 27th, 2006 in Delta, BC, aged 90. Born in 1915 in Calgary and raised in Moose Jaw, Ruby joined the Wrens during World War II then worked as a reporter and editor at the Moose Jaw Times Herald. It was in Moose Jaw where she met her husband, James B. Lamb. "We were blissfully unaware of it at the time, but we were about to Live Happily Ever After." They moved to Orillia, Ontario in 1950 where Jim was the publisher of the Orillia Packet & Times. In 1971 they retired to Baddeck, Nova Scotia. They moved to Tsawwassen, BC in 1999 where Jim died in 2000. Ruby is remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother, a great friend, and a woman of warmth and humour. She is survived by sons Rev. Roderick Lamb of Kenora, Ontario and Jamie Lamb of Tsawwassen, BC, and two grandchildren, Theodora and Maxwell. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
