HARPER, Ruth Alexandra (née HAYMAN) - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ruth Alexandra Harper who passed away at Drew Nursing Home on Friday, February 18, 2011, at the age of 90. Born in Westville, Pictou County, NS; on December 29, 1920; She was the daughter of the late Donald and Jessie (Hood) Hayman. Prior to her retirement she was employed by CNR as an employee relations officer with over 40 years of dedicated service. She served in WRCNS during WWII, a member of St. John's United Church and Choir for more than 25 years. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 50 years.(1948-1998) Ruth will be sadly missed by daughter Anne Harper (Chris) of Boudreau West, NB; one grandson Gordon MacDonald (Shelley) of Boudreau west, NB; two great granddaughters Maddison and Mekenzie; one great grandson Kaden and all her sorority sisters. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Stanley in 2005; one brother Don Hayman; and one sister Catherine Hayman. She will certainly be missed for her easy going and caring personality by many friends and family. By personal request there will be no viewing or visitation, a memorial service will be held at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home on Thursday , February 24, 2011 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Ruth's memory made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by her family.
