In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
LEGER, Evelyn Gertrude - passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on November 17, 2002 surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born in Manchester, U.K. in 1925. Her family came to Canada in 1929, settling in Montreal, P.Q. Evelyn joined the WRCNS (Wrens) in 1944 serving as a Captain's Writer. In 1952 she married Philippe Leger, and in 1960, together with daughter Veronica, the family moved to Calgary. Evelyn was a long-time employee of the Calgary Board of Education and was an active member of the Catholic Women's League. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and all who knew her and remember her wonderful sense of humour. She is survived by beloved daughter Veronica and son-in-law Michael; and grandsons, Alexander and Hugh; as well as a sister Margery; brothers, John and George; nieces, Deborah, Lorna, Cynthia and Kimberley and their families. A private Service for family and close friends will be held at Canadian and Korean Martyrs Church, 835 Northmount Drive N.W. on Friday, November 22 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
