In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MOSER, Charles - There is a sadness in our hearts as we announce the passing of Charles (Chuck) Moser, a dear husband, Dad, Poppa and great grandfather. Born in Claresholm, Alberta he was drawn at a young age from a prairie farm life to the Canadian Navy serving with distinction for 25 years. He proudly served his country during WWII and the Korean War and displayed his heartfelt patriotism always attending Remembrance Day services with his wife and family. His naval career sparked a travel interest that carried through to his retirement. Both he and his wife Marnie visited many corners of the globe. His three favourite trips were to Africa to view wildlife. During his retirement he volunteered for many societies and gave generously of his time to visit fellow veterans. His proudest contribution involved advocacy work for veterans and veterans' spouses. He was married to Marnie, the love of his life, for 75 years. He independently cared for her at home until she was recently placed in care. Family members admired his selfless devotion and remain grateful for all he did for her. He was a caring and generous man with an insatiable curiosity, but to the amusement of the family he never did learn to swim despite his many years afloat. Chuck was predeceased by his four siblings Lawrence, Lorna, Betty and Don and recently his daughter-in-law Doreen. He is survived by his wife Marnie, son Gary, daughter Wendy (Wil), four devoted grandchildren Julia (Jamus), Sarah (Michael), Michelle (Ed), Curt (Sarah), four great granddaughters Jesse, Jamie, Baylee and Zoe and numerous nieces and nephews. Visits from family always brought a smile to his face. A gathering to celebrate a life well lived will be announced at a later date. (Victoria Times Colonist 24 Dec 2021)
