ELDRIDGE, Herbert David, LS, V2631, RCNVR, died - 18 Oct 1945, HMCS BRUNSWICKER - Son of Maurice Spencer and Ida Lillian Eldridge, of Beaver Harbour.
LS Herbert Eldridge enlisted in the RCNVR on 14 Dec 1940. He was discharged Medically Unfit 05 Oct 1944 due to tuberculosis that he contracted while in service. LS Eldridge died at Saint John Sanatorium, Saint John, NB from pulmonary tuberculosis. He is buried in the Christ Church Cemetery, Pennfield, New Brunswick

David H. Eldridge, Three Years with Canadian Forces in North Atlantic, Dies in Hospital
The funeral of David Herbert Eldridge, whose death occurred on Thursday, Oct. 18, in East Saint John, was held from Christ Church, Pennfield Sunday, Oct. 21. Rev. H. Doody officiating.
Mr. Eldridge, who was 28 years of age, had been a patient in the East Saint John Hospital for the past year. He had previously served for three years in the R.C.N.V.R., having enlisted in 1941. His service was chiefly in the North Atlantic where he took part in many naval engagements.
Born in Beaver Harbor, he was a son of Maurice S. and the late Mrs. Eldridge. The high regards in which he was held by all who knew him was evidenced by the profusion of floral tributes at the funeral.
The pall-bearers, all members of the R.C.N.V.R., were Petty Officer Carmen Eldridge, Petty Officer Gilbert Eldridge, Seaman Roy Best, and Seaman Lewis Best, all boyhood friends of the deceased.
He is survived by his father, four brothers, Raymond, Charles and Adrian, of Beaver Harbor, and Eugene, of Saint John; four sisters, Miss Jessie and Miss Rowena, of Beaver Harbor; Mrs. Leonard Theriault, Beaver Harbour, and Mrs. Albert Henry, St. George. Succumbs in Lancaster Hospital At Age 63 Following Lengthy Illness
Beaver Harbor, Jan. 14 - Sympathy is extended to the family of Maurice Eldridge, whose death occurred at Lancaster Hospital, Saint John, on Saturday, December 29, following a lingering illness. Born in 1882, he was a son of the late David and Amy (Holmes) Eldridge. His wife, who predeceased him by eight years, was Miss Ida Eldridge of Canal.
