ACASTER, Douglas Haig, L/Ck (S), 40715, RCN, died - 13 Jul 1944, HMCS CHIPPAWA - Son of John Smealton Acaster and Florence Sidebottom, of North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
Douglas Acaster was a working as a teacher when he joined the RCN. He served in Canada, in Newfoundland and at sea. He had 1,460 days of service, including 1,084 overseas. He died in Winnipeg General hospital due to leukemia. L/Cook Acaster is buried in the North Battleford Cemetery, North Battleford, SK.
