ACTON, Joseph William John, LS, 4458, RCN, killed - 16 Jul 1947, HMCS MICMAC - Son of Joseph Acton and Mary Lane, of Windsor, ON; husband of Marjorie Phyllis Morris, of Halifax, NS.
Leading Seaman J. W. J. Acton was killed when HMCS MICMAC was in a collision with a merchant ship (S.S. Yarmouth County) near Sambro Light Vessel, Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is buried in the Camp Hill Cemetery, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
