WIDNER, John Garfield (Jack) - With great sadness, we announce that Dad passed away Jan. 8th 2010. Dad was born on March 8th 1929, to Lillian and Frank Widner, in Sarnia Ontario. Dad joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1947, and left Sarnia to be stationed in Esquimalt B.C. He was a wonderful Musician, playing the bass trombone for many years in the Naden Band. Dad retired from the Navy after 20 years and returned to Sarnia, eventually working in security for the Ethyl Plant near Courtright. He was predeceased by his second wife Maxine, Brother Billy, and Grandson Stephen. Survived by first wife Kathleen Stanley, Children Chris (Cindy), Heather, Step-Children Bill (Angie), Larry (Kelly), Don, Cheryl, Sister Barb, Grandchildren, Tammy (Scott) Chris (Kim) Mike (Sabrina) Shawn (Tammi) Blayne, Kylee and Great Grandchildren, Hope, Robert, Mia, Hilary, Ella, Mikey, Cole, nieces, nephews, and his little dog Taffy was by his side at all times and Dad loved him with all his heart. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday Jan 13th at Robb's Funeral home, at Sarnia Ont. (Victoria Times Colonist 12 Jan 2010)
