In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
FRASER, Angus Campbell (Gus) - MSW, VE3CJQ, LCDR (Ret'd) RCNR - Peacefully at home, surrounded by family, beloved husband of Molly (Maureen O'Leary). Dear father of Matthew (Taka), Julia (André), and Adam (Aleks). Proud Grampa of Évangéline and Ella. As a social worker with Family Services Ottawa, Gus worked in Family Life Education, prevention, and community development. He led numerous parenting groups, touching the lives of many throughout the area. A proud member of the Naval Reserve, Gus served 20 years (1957-77) at HMCS Carleton, specializing in Naval Control of Shipping. His happiest days were at the family cottage at Black Bay, QC, sailing his Siren on the Ottawa River. "Just leave it on my workbench" was his common refrain: he was a self-taught handyman, and could build or repair almost anything. A great storyteller, he loved to make people laugh. Gus read widely and especially loved poetry. He was enthusiastic about ham radio, model airplanes, naval history, skiing, genealogy, and the night sky. He and Molly travelled extensively, including in England and Scotland where he enjoyed tracing his Campbell and Fraser family roots. Gus was a fine human being and an exceptionally gentle and loving man. He will be forever missed. Funeral arrangements to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the United Way East Ontario would be appreciated
