In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
SANDALACK, Frederick Joseph (Fred) - passed away July 8, 1999 in Calgary. During World War II he served in the Royal Canadian Navy. Fred was very involved with the Glamorgan Community Association and coached several sports teams. He retired in 1985 from the City of Calgary Parks and Recreation Department as Area Superintendent. He was a member of the Southern Alberta Turf Grass Association, the International Society of Arboriculture, the Golf Course Superintendents Association and the Association of Canadian Travellers. After his retirement, Fred devoted his time to his family and his garden. Fred leaves behind two daughters, Diane Shaw and her husband Wayne and their children, Amy, Timothy and Lauren, all of Edmonton, and Dr. Beverly Sandalack of Calgary; a son William and his wife Diana and their son Michael, all of Calgary. He is also survived by a brother Alexander (Evelyn) of Langley, BC; and a sister Sally Kingston of Regina, SK; and several nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his +wife Betty Margaret in 1985 and his grandson William Shaw in 1984. Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway's Elboya Chapel, 5008 Elbow Drive, S.W., today, July 12, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Bernie Black of the Catholic Church Diocese officiating.
