WHINTON, Norman Edward - In his 84th year, surrounded by his loving family, Norman passed away peacefully at home November 13, 2004. Born August 25, 1921 in Toronto. Beloved husband of Mary (née Rocchi), and father of Nancy, Paul, Matthew (Andrea), and Mark (Hope). Loving grandfather of April, Sean, Laura, Marlena, Grant, Alanna, Alexandra, Kristina, and Stuart, and great-grandfather of Leo and Gabriel. Survived by his loving brother George, and predeceased by his sister Winnifred and bother Jack. He was a WWII naval veteran and enjoyed sailing. Norm will be dearly missed by many family and friends in Hamilton, Burlington and Hagersville. He was very thankful for their love, friendship and fellowship. Visitation will be held at the P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Avenue (between Fennell and Mohawk) on Monday, November 15, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, November 16, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with Prayers at 8:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be offered at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. Special thanks to Dr. Zikman, and the caring teams at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, CCAC, SEN Health Care and SEN Community Health Care for the wonderful care he received in the last several months.
