ASHLEY, Mark, Lt (N), C.A.F., died 18 Aug 2007, HMCS CALGARY - son of Lillian and Stephen Ashley.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Lt. Mark Ashley graduated from the Royal Military College in 2003 and was commissioned an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy. In November 2006, he was assigned the above-water warfare officer on board the HMCS Calgary. On August 18, 2007, Lt. Ashley was struck and killed by a hit and run driver while his ship was docked in San Francisco for shore leave.
ASHLEY, Mark - born October 12, 1979, was suddenly taken from us on August 18th, 2007. Dearly beloved son of Lillian and Stephen. Dearest brother of Patricia and brother-in-law Tim. Loving grandson of Mary and predeceased Grandfather Kazimierz. Remembered by his father Robert, wife Katherine, and predeceased Grandmother Margaret. Always cared for by soul mate and love Katie along with her family. Adored by Uncle Peter and wife Krystyna. Cherished by cousins, Hilary, Matthew, and wife Tanya. In the hearts of Grandmother Ruth and predeceased Grandfather Matthew. Fondly missed by Aunt Janet, Uncle Paul and wife Kim. Dearly missed by many dear nieces, and nephews. Sadly missed and always treasured by Danny, wife Andrea, Omar, Bruno, Ben and Steve. Never forgotten by friends, colleagues, Commander Kelly Larkin and crew of the HMCS Calgary.
