In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
COMRIE, Harold Maxwell - It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the peaceful passing of our beloved father, husband, papa and great papa Harold Maxwell Comrie with family by his side. He passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Regional Health Sciences Centre at the age of 86. Harold was born July 9, 1935 in Belleville, Ontario.
Harold enlisted in the Navy and served for 2 years with an honorable discharge in 1955. He drove for his lifelong friend John McKevitt at McKevitt Trucking for over 30 years. He worked as a proud firefighter for 32 years, becoming District Chief in 1988 and retiring as Platoon Chief in 1995. He was honoured and humbled to have served with so many good men. Harold loved telling stories about the men he served with from fighting fires to the making of the meals and the time he spent at each and every station he worked.
Harold married the love of his life, Loretta Rapino, June 21, 1958. Together they raised 3 beautiful daughters, Corrie, Kim and Rosanne. Harold is survived by his loving wife Loretta; daughters Corrie (George) Grant, Kim Comrie and Rosanne (Bruce) Massaro; grandchildren Adam Grant (Jennalynn), Rachelle (Ian) Minthorn and Danny Massaro; great grandchildren Ava and William Minthorn.
