In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
ONIONS, Robert Patrick (Pat) - who joined the RCNVR at 17 in 1944 and served in HMCS Sackville, passed away in Hanover, Ontario December 5, 2023, in his 97th year. Following his naval service in 1946 he spent some time in the Yukon, was later employed as a heavy equipment salesman in North Bay, ON and opened an imported car sales and service business. He was active in the Royal Canadian Legion (including Callander and Wingham Branches), the Royal Canadian Naval Association and a trustee of the Canadian Naval Memorial Trust, visiting HMCS Sackville on several occasions. He was also involved with car and sailing clubs over the years. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy; survivors include his children Mike, Wendy, Terry and Chris, brother Jim and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
