CHURCHER, Walter Robert - In Victoria, on November 16, 1972, MWO(S) Walter Robert Churcher, aged 47 years, born in Antler, Sask., and a resident of 3542 Wishart Road, Colwood. He is survived by his loving wife Lenora, one daughter Darlene, and two sons, Robert Grand and Trevor William all at home; his father Robert Churcher of Brandon, Manitoba; four sisters, Mrs. Munn, Nesbith, Manitoba; Mrs. Smeltz, Mrs. H. Wilson and Mrs. Lacey of Brandon; one brother Grant of Winnipeg; several nieces and nephews. MWO(S) Churcher had served 28 years with the Canadian Navy at the time of his passing was serving aboard HMCS CAPE BRETON.
The funeral service will be held in St. Andrew's Chapel, Naden, on Monday, November 20, at 2:00 p.m with Chaplain W. Taylor officiating. Interment at the Veterans' Cemetery. McCall Bros. Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. (The Victoria Times Colonist)
