In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MUNRO, Glynn William - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Glynn William Munro on March 5, 2022 at the age of 71 in Richmond, BC. He is survived by his loving wife Judy (Ross) married 50 years; daughters Kim (Tristan), Kelly (Ron); granddaughter Mary-Anne; grandsons Christian, Jesse and Keenan. Also, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. He is predeceased by his father H. Ken, sister Sharon, mother Dorothy and brother Ken. Glynn was a calm, patient man with a heart of gold, who would drop everything to lend a hand to family and friends. His articulate and dry sense of humour would always put a smile on your face in good times and bad. Glynn enjoyed coaching his daughters in softball and loved spending time with his grandchildren. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, camping and lake fishing with family and friends. Glynn and Judy loved traveling and going on cruises. A highlight was a trip to Kenya after retirement. He was lucky to have enjoyed two careers; retiring after 29 years, as an Acting Battalion Chief with the Vancouver Fire Department and, 43 years with the Naval Reserve retiring as a CPO1. He was one of the last Reserve Clearance Divers and was a pioneer for the Port Inspection Diver trade. Glynn was the fifth Naval Reserve Formation (Fleet) Chief from 2007-2010. A Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If you would like to make a donation in Glynn's name, please consider the Richmond Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
