In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
DYMENT, Norman Lloyd - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad on March 28, 2022 in his 88th year after a brief illness.
Loving husband of Juanita, loving father of Dave (Tina), Greg (Natalie) and Kathy (Daren). Proud grandfather of Matt (Grace), Heather, Andrew, Jill, Katie (Josh), Maxwell, Emily, Thomas, great-grandfather of Huxley.
After
graduating from University of New Brunswick in Forestry, Norm began his
career with The Great Lakes Paper Co. in Thunder Bay. He also proudly served
as a Lieutenant for the Royal Canadian Navy in Halifax in the 1960s. Most of
his career was spent in guidance counselling, teaching math, and coaching
curling at Thomas A Stewart Secondary School where his patient, kind, caring
nature helped high school kids find their path in life and left life- long
memories.
Norm was a member of the Peterborough Curling Club for over 50 years. He was also a member of Westdale United Church.
His love for family was most important in his life. Camping trips driving across Western Canada and United States, annual fishing at Kawagama Lake and summers spent on the shores of the East Coast created treasured memories that will remain forever.
Norm will be remembered for his love for family and his kindness towards everyone he met. Our family will never be the same without our Dad. We were truly blessed to have made so many memories through our lives together.
A celebration of Norm's life will be held at Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Rd, Peterborough on Friday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m. followed by a reception in the Highland Reception Centre.
As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Canadian Red Cross, or the Canadian Cancer Society. (The Peterborough Examiner 01 Apr 2022)
