In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
GUNN, Donald J. - Born in Toronto in 1933, Don passed peacefully, at his home on his beloved Lake Simcoe, on March 20, 2022, in his eighty-ninth year. Don was a Navy veteran who started his career in Milton, ON, as a fastener salesman which led to his greatest accomplishment when in 1966, Don founded Hold-Tite Fasteners Limited in Concord, ON, and that business continues to this day. Don and his wife Barbara travelled the world extensively and enjoyed winters in Florida, where he made many great and lasting friendships. Don never knew a stranger and would always make you feel welcome. He had a soft spot for dogs and his seven great-grandchildren Kaylee, Peyton, Alex, Erik, Cole, Tommy and Olive. Don is survived by his loving wife Barbara. Cherished father of Sandy (John) and Cathy (Rob). "Gunka" to John, Matthew, Sarah, Kristy, Courtney and Jesse and their families. He is also survived by his sister Margaret and predeceased by his brothers Jim and Bill. Don will be greatly missed by his many friends, nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be shared at Don and Barb's home on Lake Simcoe, Saturday, June 25th, at 2:00 p.m. (The Toronto Star 31 Mar 2022)
