In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
INDEWAY, Andy C. - passed away peacefully on March 21, 2022 in his 82nd year, after a strong fight, surrounded by the ones he loved most, his family.
Andy is survived by his brothers Casey (Jackie), Charlie (Corrie) and his two sisters, Marge (Jerry) and Cathy, his partner in crime. Loving father to Lisa (Darin) and Jeff (Janine). Loving Grampa to Chris (Kim), Samantha (Sarah), Serena (Michael) Carly (Erik), Daniel (Haya), Deanna (Devon), Jacob, Jason and Joshua (Kendall) and his two fur babies, Bucko and Molly. Great-grandpa to Delainey, Kylee and Brooklyn. He is predeceased by his parents Bernhard (1982), Catharina (1993) and his brothers Tony (2019) and Ben (2011).
Andy was born in Rilland-Bath, Netherlands in 1940 and immigrated with his family to PEI when he was 14 years old. In his early 20's he joined the Navy where it was instilled into him to "treat everyone with kindness", which he made his life motto. Andy will always be remembered most for his generosity, big heart and his love of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays.
Andy moved to Ontario in 1964, where he met his wife Murlean and they settled in Guelph to build a life together and raise their children. It was here that he started his career driving truck for Donland's Dairy. Here he met a close group of friends whom you could find hanging out at the Legion on Saturday afternoons having a few beers and playing Euchre. His Dutch heritage never left him (wooden head, wooden shoes and wooden listen!).
He was the man, the myth.....and now our legend.
The family would like to give thanks to Dr. Ruddock and Dr. Lee, the Doctors and Nurses at Grand River Cancer Centre for all of their hard work. A special thanks to Catrine Curtis from Bayshore, whose visits Andy always looked forward too. (The Guelph Mercury Tribune 05 Apr 2022)
