In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
CIRTWELL, Allan Edward - Age 86 of Timberlea. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Allan Edward Cirtwell, 86 years of age, on March 26, 2022. Born on July 8th, 1935 in Gananoque Ontario he was the son of the late Jack and Elsie (Paige) Cirtwell. He was predeceased by his beautiful wife Patricia (O’Brien) Cirtwell; brother John Cirtwell; sister Judith (Cirtwell) Heaslip and great granddaughter Maiya Keun. He moved to Nova Scotia after joining the Navy in 1953 and married the love of his life Pat in 1955. He retired after 32 years in the Navy and went on to work at Paramax Canada in Quebec for 7 years. After a grandchild was born they decided to move back to Nova Scotia where he took a job with the Commissioners for a couple years. He and Pat enjoyed many years travelling around the world in their retirement. He is survived by his sons Robert (Kathy), Kevin (Leslie), Blair; daughter Charlene (Eddie); grandchildren Courtney (Luke) and Jacob (Olivia); great grandchildren Claire, Jack and Grace Keun. We would like to thank the incredible team of doctors and nurses with palliative care and Hospice Halifax. They went above and beyond to make him feel safe and comfortable in his final days. Donations can be made in his memory to Hospice Halifax. A graveside service will be held at Oakridge Memorial Gardens on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11am. (The Saltwire Network 29 Mar 2022)
