DUNFORD, Jack - 75, Halifax, died peacefully February 7, 1998, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, New Infirmary Site.
Born in Francois, Nfld., he was a son of the late George William and Maude (Baggs) Durnford.
He was retired after 35 years service at HMC Dockyard. He served in the RCN during the Second World War.
He was a member of Royal Sussex Lodge 6, AF&AM, and was a long-time parishioner of St. Philip's Anglican Church.
Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He was extremely generous and happy person who had a profound effect on so many.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (Nash); daughter, Julie (Mrs. William Haas), Bedford; Dianne (Mrs. Bill Quimby), Orangedale; Jacqueline (Mrs. Bill O'Hearon), Halifax; sons, Eric (and wife Penny), Halifax; Glenn (and wife Joan), Middle LaHave; Eric, Delta, B.C.; sister, Annie Greene, Francois; grandchildren, Emily (Mrs. Steve Burchett), SaraBeth, Andrea, Suzie, Brian, Allyson and David Haas; Andy and Ben Durnford; Paul and Jane Bottomley and Elissa Quimby; Kathryn, Karen, Laura and Micheal O'Hearon; Mathias, Sam and Elizabeth Durnford; great-grandchildren, Katherine and Will Burchett.

by sisters, Julia, Francois; Katherine Hann Burgeo, Nfld.; visitation 2-4,
7-9 p.m. today in Snow's Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax. Funeral
service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Philip's Anglican Church, Bayers Road,
Halifax, Rev. Don Ruggles officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
