ROBINSON, Franklin H.E. (Frank) - Born on March 23, 1937, to Philip and Elsie Robinson in Hamilton, Ontario. Passed away at his home in Penetanguishene, Ontario on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of 55 years to Mary "Jane" Robinson, nee: Julie. Dear father to Laura Robinson (George Leck) and Diana Robinson (Masa Yamamoto). Proud grandfather of Rowan Robinson-Leck. Loved brother of William "Bill" Robinson (Bette Wood) and uncle to Scott and Michelle. He will be remembered by his extended family and friends. At the age of 18, Frank joined the Royal Canadian Navy for a 5-year stint. He was flown to Belfast, stationed on the Canadian aircraft carrier BONAVENTURE. He had varied experiences on different ships and travelled extensively. Frank later graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist. He and his wife Jane moved to Midland, for a career opportunity with RCA, where they raised their family. Frank had a multitude of interests throughout his life including skydiving, golf, and local fraternal organizations. He was a voracious reader on many subjects of interest. Frank was known in his communities as a support and mentor having influenced the lives of many. The family will be holding a private memorial. Donations to the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society are gratefully received in his honour. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Leclair Cremation Centre. (The Simcoe County News 07 Jul 2022)
