They made the Ultimate Sacrifice
MURRAY, Douglas Shawn, OS.BN, died 20 Sep 1975, HMCS PROVIDER - OS Murray died as the result of an accidental drowning while HMCS PROVIDER was conducting a port visit to Long Beach CA. He fell overboard sometime during the night of 20/21 Sep. His body was recovered in the morning by ship’s divers. Shawn was only 18 years old and this was his first trip with the navy.
OS Murray's father, L/Sig Douglas Murray passed away in 1974.
