BENOIT, Jean Joseph Herve Lucien (Benny) (Peanut), PO1, RCN, died 26 Oct 2015 - HMCS VICTORIA - 53 of Dartmouth, It is with broken hearts that we regret to announce the sudden passing of Jean “Benny” Benoit on Monday October 26, 2015. Born in Granby, Quebec, he was the son of the late Hervé “Ben” Benoit and Therésè Fortin. He is survived by his wife, Donna Mattie; daughters, Roxanne and Katherine; grandsons, Alexandre Benoit and Landon MacNeil; sisters, Andrée (Guy Vincent), Josée, Claude, Dominique and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Jean "Benny" cherished time spent with his loved ones, especially his wife, daughters and grandsons who were the apple of his eye. Jean “Benny” recently retired with 35 years in the Navy, with the majority of his dedicated service as a submariner. A Celebration of Life service, followed by a reception will be held, at 10 am Saturday October 31st at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A family interment will take place in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
