They made the Ultimate Sacrifice
LEWIS, Trevor Donald - It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Trevor Donald Lewis on October 6, 2014 at the age of 43. Loving husband to his loving wife Oulay; proud and devoted father of Carson, Ryan, Milo and TJ; beloved son of William and Shirley Lewis; brother of Tim Lewis; brother-in-law of Trevor and Minou Oliveira; loving uncle of Destinee and Vanessa. Trevor grew up in Summerside, P.E.I where he graduated from Three Oaks High School. After high school, Trevor attended Holland College in Charlottetown, P.E.I where he received his certification as an Electronic Technician. Trevor joined the Canadian Armed Forces (Navy) in 1991 and proudly served for 23 years. During his illustrious career with the Navy, Trevor went on many missions. One of his proudest moments was when he was awarded the Operational Service Medal for a Humanitarian Mission in Haiti. Most recently, Trevor moved to Calgary to enjoy family and friends, the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and a new career in the oil and gas sector. Trevor will be forever remembered by all who knew him for his kindness, amazing sense of humor, dedication, compassion, love for his family and friends and his pride in his sons. Trevor enjoyed playing ball hockey with his neighbors and their children, golfing and was active in the community as a volunteer coach for youth basketball. Trevor also had a passion for motorcycles and on his 40th Birthday, was gifted with a sports bike from his wife Oulay, and took every opportunity to enjoy it. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm with funeral service being held on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at 2 pm, both from the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, NS. Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating A reception will follow the service in the funeral home. Flowers are welcome and donations made to Autism Canada would be appreciated by the family.
