In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
WRIGHT, John Longden (Jack) - Was born September 15, 1922 and died August 3, 2022, just 43 days short of 100 years old!
His passing was peaceful, surrounded by his two loving sons and their wives. He was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Rachel Wright, his wife Beverly nee Johnson, daughter Rachel (Rae) Margolis and son Craig.
He is survived by sons Lionel (Brenda), Jack (Marta), son-in-law Gary, grand-children Cheney, Jonathan, Tara, Lara, Rory and six great-grandchildren.
Jack was born, raised and lived most of his life in Transcona. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1939 to 1945. Upon return he joined the CNR until retiring in 1977 at age 55. He was then able to pursue his passion for golf and his second career began, building and repairing golf clubs, taking early retirement at age 85 at Bev's insistence! They enjoyed years of travel and golf together. Jack drove until age of 92! The family greatly appreciates the care and kindness of the Golden West Centennial Lodge where he spent his later years.
