In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
PUBLICOVER, Edgar Stephen - The community of West Dublin and surrounding districts were deeply saddened to hear of the sudden death of Edgar Stephen Publicover which occurred at his home on Thursday, September 17th, at the age of 67 years. Mr. Publicover served in the R.C.N. during World War I, and was also a deep sea fisherman. Later he conducted a grocery business at West Dublin until his retirement last year.
He is survived by two sons, Ainslie and Ross of Ontario; two daughters, Verna (Mrs. Vernon Fraser) of Milton, Queens County; and Mavis (Mrs. William Corkum) of Ontario. There are also eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Harding, Saskatoon; and Myra (Mrs. John Metcalf), of Florida; and one brother, Stephen of Auburn, Mass. His wife, Vera, predeceased him on September 23rd, 1963.
The funeral service was held on Monday afternoon from St. Matthew's Presbyterian Church of which he was a member. Rev. Posno conducted the service.
Hymns sung were "When On My Day of Life the Night is Falling," "God Moves in a Mysterious Way," and "The Sun Declines O'er Land and Sea."
Pall bearers were Grant Romkey, Erland Risser, Urban Bushen, and Charles Sponagle. (Bridgewater Bulletin 19 Sep 1964)
