In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
NEWMAN, Donald Arthur - age 89 years of Dartmouth passed away peacefully September 20 , 2011 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Windsor, Ontario he was a son of the late Arthur and Ethel (Jenner) Newman. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Navy and served in War Two and the Korean Conflict, he left the navy in 1968 to start a second career with Canada Manpower from where he finally retired. He was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was dedicated to his Lord and family and will be deeply missed by his wife of 67 years, Annie, son Alan (Diana), Dartmouth, daughters Dianne (Douglas) Brown, Fox Point, Patricia (Ross) Street, Mahone Bay, seven grandchildren and seven great grand children. He was pre deceassed by a sister Shirley Addeman. The family would like to offer sincere thanks to the nursing staff of 3 east and the Emergency Room of Dartmouth General. Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday in Bethel Baptist Church, 316 Windmill Road, Pastor Vance Arbeau officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Dartmouth Funeral Home.
